Judith Crawford, Director

Judith qualified from Nottingham in 1984 and worked in Exeter until moving to Sydney, Australia where she worked in private practice. She moved back to UK and to the Isle of Wight where she has been working since 1989. Judith worked in rehabilitation and adult neurology treating both in and out patients at St. Mary’s Hospital on the Isle of Wight until moving into musculo-skeletal medicine in the mid 1990’s.

Specialist Skills –‘ I now specialise in musculo-skeletal injuries and have particular interest in low back pain, whiplash and work related problems. I have been using acupuncture for 13 years and I am a keen member of the AACP, the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Acupuncture and PhysioFirst (the Organisation of Physiotherapists in Private Practice). I am also a member of the specialist group of Chartered Physiotherapists in Occupational Health and Ergonomics (ACPOHE)’

Hobbies – I enjoy sailing and spent 2 years sailing around the Pacific Ocean in the late 1980’s working on Super Yachts cooking. I also enjoy running, skiing and tennis. I have an interest in nutrition and generally keeping fit.

Grete Scott, Physiotherapist

Grete qualified at the University of Stellenbosch, Cape Town in 2003 and has been working in the UK for nearly 7 years. She has been employed at PhysioCare since 2006.

Specialist Skills – ‘My clinical experience ranges from sports injuries (especially rugby), ergonomics, and general musculo-skeletal problems. I have been using acupuncture since 2007 and attend regular update courses to keep my registration with the AACP (Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Aucupuncture). I like to keep up-to-date with the latest research and findings by attending regular courses.

Hobbies – I enjoy skiing and hockey.

Steve Brooks, Physiotherapist

Having qualified from the University of Brighton in 2001 after a previous career in the fitness industry, Steve went on to work in various London NHS Trusts for 5 years, prior to moving into private practice.

Specialist Skills – I specialise in musculoskeletal care with a particular interest in the management of neck and arm conditions.

Hobbies – My own sporting interests include basketball, in which I competed at National League level.

Gillian McEwan, Senior Physiotherapist

Gillian qualified in Sheffield in 1984 and since then has gained experience in many areas of physiotherapy.
As a senior physiotherapist she specialised and taught; intensive care, respiratory, neurology and cardiac rehab.

Specialist skills – My main area of expertise now is hydrotherapy but I still maintain an interest in the musculoskeletal, respiratory and women’s health areas of physiotherapy. I have worked in a various places all over the world including the Royal Clinic in Saudi Arabia. In 1989 I was asked to head up a team of physiotherapists in the Royal Naval Hospital Haslar. I like to keep up-to-date with the latest research and findings by attending regular courses.

Hobbies – I am a busy mother of two teenagers and enjoy walking, sailing and Pilates.

Perry Fisher, Physiotherapist

Perry qualified as a physiotherapist in 2004 having previously gained a Sports Science degree. Since graduation he has worked in Yorkshire. Manchester, Leicester and the Isle of Wight.

Specialist skills – Largely working in the area of musculoskeletal injuries, Perry has a particular interest in sports physiotherapy – an area in which he is currently looking at studying to Masters level. He works closely with local coaches and athletes in treating injuries and injury prevention.

Hobbies – Perry has been involved in playing sports and training for 20+ years. As well as being a judo black belt, he has played rugby and rowed to a high level. He is currently focussed on running, cycling, mountain biking, orienteering and adventure racing and trains for 2-3 hours a day. He also has an interest in motor biking and has travelled extensively.

Rachel Bartlett, Practice Manager

Rachel liaises with the GP surgeries under its NHS contract, streamline administrative practices and provide a welcoming and friendly environment to clients visiting the Ryde clinic.

Specialist Skills – I have a strong administrative background, having worked in the field for over 20 years, which included working as a Practice Manager for a GP surgery. I have been working at PhysioCare for over 4 years.

Hobbies – I enjoy Yoga and walking.
